V8 Supercars – Bargs Battles Through

July 10, 2011

V8 Supercars

Starting from P13 in today’s race at Townsville, Jason Bargwanna came through the field twice to finish 11th after a safety car undid all his good work.

After his first pitstop Bargs dropped to 19th from P10 but worked his way back up to 12th by lap 44, when the safety car was called for debris on the track.

The Jana Living Racing driver had to queue behind team-mate Jason Bright for a tyre change costing him ten positions on track and the shot at a podium.

The next race is at Ipswich Motor Raceway from 19-21 August.

“We really had a good race car today and the safety car came at exactly the wrong time for us. Without it we would have been fighting for the podium no doubt. It cost us ten spots from where we were.

“We’ve always said the second half of the year will be our strong point and now we’re starting to get the momentum going.”
