Vitantonio Liuzzi and Narain Karthikeyan dropped by Besiktas JK’s training session this morning in Istanbul. The Hispania Racing drivers witnessed virtually the whole of the Turkish Super League outfit’s session led by coach, Tayfur Havutçu, and once it finished made their way down on to the pitch where they got to know the players.
The drivers exchanged shirts with the players, some of them well known in Europe, such as Simao (former Atletico Madrid) and Ricardo Quaresma, Portuguese international who once played for the likes of Barcelona and Chelsea. Unfortunately, former Real Madrid midfielder Guti was unable to attend training. Tonio, Narain and the Besiktas players, who have a big game on Saturday against Turkish champions Bursaspor, and the Turkish Cup final against Istanbul Buyujsehir Belediyespor on Wednesday the 11th of May, really enjoyed their time together.
Before being shown around the impressive facilities, the drivers had a quick kick about on the pitch, showing the press that they’re almost as good with their feet as with their hands
